You can apply for a travel scholarship at any time by
opening the profile menu in the top right (or sidebar for mobile users)
and clicking on Travel Scholarship.
You will need to fill in a few required fields:
Reason for application (limited to 200 words or less).
Indication of other external sources of funding.
If applicable, details of your other external sources of funding.
Upon successful submission to your dashboard. You can revisit the scholarship
application page at any time to edit or delete your application up until the
deadline.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you will need:
To attend the EMCR Hackathon and the 2024 ABACBS Conference
To present a poster at the EMCR Hackathon, and
Be a post-doctoral researcher (of any career stage).
A registration fee of $20 AUD to the EMCR Hackathon applies.
Scholarship outcomes will be announced prior to the early-bird registration deadline.
Call for Workshop Proposals
We invite expressions of interest for organising workshops at ABACBS 2024.
This is a great opportunity to share your expertise and engage with others in your field.
If you are interested in running a workshop, please provide the following information:
Title and Topic of the Workshop: Please provide a concise title and
a brief description of the topic and objectives of the workshop.
Organiser(s): Include the names and affiliations of the workshop organiser(s).
Length of Workshop: Indicate whether your workshop will be a whole-day or half-day event.
Estimated Attendance: Provide an estimate of the number of participants you expect to attend the workshop.
Sponsorship: Specify if you have already secured sponsorship.
If not, please indicate the funding amount you will be requesting.

Carers Support - Expression of Interest
ABACBS acknowledges carer responsibilities have the potential to hinder academic and professional bioinformaticians from being able to take
full advantage of the opportunities presented at scientific conferences and networking events.
We seek expressions of interest and advice on how the Society can best provide carers support at ABACBS 2024.
